Today we are going to look at the Great Depression in the United States, as well as the economic conditions that led to the rise of fascism in Europe in the interwar period. It's a tough time. As you do the short reads and look at the powerpoint today, think about the conditions that would exist that people would be willing to adopt Fascism. What did it offer? How did Fascist leaders win the support of the people (remember - Hitler was ELECTED by the people)? What implications do the situations of the past tell us about the situations we find ourselves in today? If you believe that history is cyclical, then this section is really important.

Song of the day

Today on SOTD, I have a funk/soul anthem for you. This song has been around since 1993, and has been a jam ever since, being used in movies including the Guardians of the Galaxy. This is the band Parliament, with their song Flashlight.
