For the rest of the class, we will be looking at the Cold War; the post-WWII period characterized by a competition between the democratic world led by the United States and the communist world led by the Soviet Union. This period is called the Cold War because it while the two sides competed against one another, it played out in smaller countries around the globe and the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. never were engaged in direct war with each other. Kind of like we let others do the fighting for us. There's a lot of interesting stuff here, so buckle up; we're getting into it!

Song of the Day
Here's a great song by a great musician. John Mayer has been a favorite of mine since his first album dropped in 2001. He's a musician and songwriter who knows who he is and what he's capable of, and his music really spoke to me as I left a touring band and had to figure out what I was going to do with the rest of my life. This is the first track from his first album, Room for Squares. This is the song No Such Thing. Enjoy!
