Today, we are continuing looking at psychological disorders, focusing on Somatoform and Dissociative disorders. These are interesting as somatoform disorders are characterized by physical symptoms manifesting with no identifiable physical cause. It is believed that a person's anxiety causes these symptoms to manifest. Conversion disorders, hypochondriasis, and Munchausen's syndrome fall into this category of disorders. Dissociative disorders involve some sort of loss of consciousness or identity. Amnesia,  fugue, and dissociative personality disorder (formerly multiple personality disorder) fall into this category of disorders.
