Does the name Pavlov ring a bell?

Today, we begin looking at the practice of learning. Basically, there are 3 ways that we learn new things: Classical Conditioning, Operant Conditioning, and Social Learning. This chapter will look at the way that we do all three. It is incredibly interesting, and at times confusing. RELAX...we will spend a little time going over this when we return. There's a lot to digest here, so I'm going to take a couple of days with each section. Take time to go through this material and understand it. Today's section deals with Classical conditioning, which is all about association. It's used all over...in the advertising business, it is a powerful tool that companies use to get you to buy their products. Anyway, take a little time and check it out!

Song of the day

Well, as I'm putting this page together, it's Thursday morning (I set these up a day ahead of time) and it's kind of cold and cloudy out. We've all been inside for a few days, and there's more to come. It makes me wish for a nice beach or lakefront to sit on and just watch life go by. Today's Song of the Day evokes memories of taking it easy, chilling out on a summer day, being by the water, and everything being alright. It's R&B great Otis Redding with his hit Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay.
